Dear Ted,
At last my dream has come true. I know you will be glad to learn that we have bought a house, for you know how much I've wanted this to happen. We're very happy. We have a small vegetable garden. Each of the children has claimed a little square of it, and I can see now that even if we have nothing else to eat, we'll have plenty of radishes.
How I wish that you could come and visit! If there is any possibility, do make every effort. We can make you comfortable, and it would be a joy to have you with us. You can visit on any time.
I've always told you about my problems, and I wanted you to share my happiness, too.
