Reflow soldering is the most common method of attaching surface mount technology ( SMT ) components to a printed circuit board. The goal of the reflow process is to heat and melt the solder, without overheating and damaging the electrical components.
Instead automatic optical inspection is a far more viable solution. Machines are available that are able to inspect boards and detect poor joints, misplaced components, and under some instances the wrong component.
In-circuit test is to do the physical measurements (i.e. voltage, frequency) , then functional test is to check if the PCB does what it had been designed for.
ESD prevention may include setting up an ESD safe workstation , using anti-static mats and conductive flooring materials to conduct harmful electric charges away from the work area, wearing conductive garments and conducting wrist straps to prevent high voltages from accumulating on workers’ bodies, using ESD-safe bag to store and transport any ESD sensitive electronic component.
