听力原文:M: Hi, Susan, where were you at lunch time? I was saving a seat for you in a cafeteria.
W: Oh, sorry m miss you. But my search for knowledge was greater than my pains of hunger.
M: I never had that problem, so where were you?
W: My political science class ran over time.
M: That's been happening quite a bit lately, hasn't it?
W: I guess so. Actually, what happens is that a bunch hung around for awhile after class to talk with our professor and asking questions.
M: Oh, really! Who is this twentieth century Socrates on earth?
W: Professor Hawl, have you heard of him?
M: Mm, he does have a good reputation in the political science department.
W: And well deserved one. The same student who falls asleep in discussion group in seminars fights front row seat in his lectures.
M: Oh, no. I hope this is in catching.
W: You can joke. But it's great to have a professor who is not only interesting, but prepared to give up time for students.
M: I know, they are real breed. Maybe I should sit in on his class sometime. Do you think he'll care?
W: Not at all. Lots of students bring their friends. He said he feel flattered.
M: I'll make a good student of you yet.

听力原文:M: Hi, I am going door to door tonight to tell people about the student action union. Do you have a few minutes?
W: Sure. You know, I think I read something in the newspaper last week.
M: Yeah, there was an article about us since the last issue. See, we are trying to protect some of the open spaces on campus.
W: That's right. You are the group that is opposing the extension of the parking lot next to Smith Hall, right?
M: That's us. We just feel it is important to save some of the natural beauty of the campus, like those precious trees. Some of those trees are hundreds of years old.
W: It is a pretty place. My friends and I had picnics over there.
M: Then you understand how we feel. We are organizing a meeting on Thursday afternoon to get the administration to reconsider the parking lot plan.
W: Well, I have a class on Thursday afternoon.
M: But maybe you could sign your name on this paper. We're going to summit it to the administration to show how the students feel about this.
W: Sure, let me get a pen and I'll sign it.
M: I have a pen right here. And let me leave you this handout about the student action union. Maybe you could come to some of our meetings. We get together once a month.
W: Yeah, I'd like to know more about your group. Let me know when the next meeting is and I'll try to be there.
