听力原文:M: Carol, do you know when Prof. Wang's Chinese Literature Final is?
W: Next Tuesday.
M: Next Tuesday! That is less than a week away, and I have got things planned for this weekend.
W: Haven't you been studying all along?
M: I have kept up with my lecture notes, but I haven't reviewed at all.
W: Then it's your own fault. The date of the final is clearly marked on the course outline.
M: I suppose you're right, but doesn't it seem awfully early for a final?
W: A little, but it should actually help us out. After we have finished with it, we can concentrate on our other finals.
M: Are you ready for it?
W: I think I am. I'm going'to review some more, of course.
M: Do you think we could study together sometime this weekend?
W: I don't see why not. Are you doing anything tomorrow night?
M: I can't tomorrow. I am going out with some guys to that new nightspot downtown.
W: Well, how about the following night?
M: No, I can't Saturday either. My sister and her husband are coming to town and I want to show them around.
W: Sunday, then?
M: Well, I'll probably sleep all morning and in the afternoon I want to go to the football game. Also that night I have to write and type up a paper for another class.
W: Gary, that leaves Monday, the night before the test.
M: Actually, I've got plans for Monday night too. How about early Tuesday morning?
W: Gary, the test is Tuesday morning.

听力原文:M: Math Department, Dr. Smith speaking.
W: Hello. Prof. Smith, this is Lucy Wang calling. I live two doors down from your teaching assistant, Brain Williams. Brain asked me to call you because he has lost his voice and can't talk to you himself.
M: Lost his voice? Oh, what a shame. Is there anything I can do for him?
W: Well, he has a class this afternoon, from 2:30 to 4:00, and he won't be able to teach it, but he doesn't want to cancel it, either.
M: Does he want me to try to find somebody else to teach the class?
W: No, not exactly. What he wants to do is to get someone go in for him, just to pass back the mid-term exams. He's already marked them and they are on the desk in his office. The whole thing wouldn't take more than ten minutes.
M: His classes are at 2:30, you say? Well, I'm free at that time. I am going to be on campus anyway. So I could do it for him. What room is his class in?
W: Main Building, Room 804. Will you need his office key to get the exams? He's given it to me and I could bring it to you.
M: Well, actually that won't be necessary. We have a master key in the Math Department, so I can get into his office if necessary.
W: Thank you very much, Prof. Smith. Brain doesn't have another class to teach until Thursday and hopefully he'll be able to talk by then. He'll call you as soon as he can. Oh, yes, I almost forgot.
M: Yes?
W: Could you put the next assignment on the board, too? It's all the problems on page 30, and they're due at next class.
M: No trouble at all. Thanks for passing on the news about Brain, and please tell him not to worry about anything.

听力原文: A couple of months ago, I went to a department store to buy a few things for the house. I needed a set of curtains for the living room, two table lamps, a rug and several cushions. I asked them to deliver the things as soon as possible, but they said they were unable to send them out until 20 days later. After about 3 weeks, I received only the curtains and table lamps. I was a little disappointed when I didn't receive all the items I had bought. But nevertheless, I was eager to see what the curtains and lamps looked like. I first opened the package with the curtains. I had bought a lovely light blue, and instead they had sent me a horrible dark purple. Well, you can just imagine how angry I was. Then I opened the boxes with the lamps. They were exactly what I'd ordered. But one of the lampshades was damaged. The next I did was to telephone them to complain. They promised to come and pick them up immediately and also to replace them with the correct order. It has been two weeks since my complaint. They have neither picked up the wrong items nor sent me the rest of my order.
