听力原文: Former U.S. president and Nobel Peace Prize winner Jimmy Carter on Sunday condemned preparations for a unilateral U. S. attack on Iraq, saying it would be an unjust war "almost unprecedented in the history of civilized nations." In an article in The New York Times, Carter said profound changes in U.S. foreign policy had reversed "consistent bipartisan (由两党成员组成的;代表两党的;由两党支持的) commitments that had been for more than two centuries have earned our nation greatness." Carter, who served as president from 1977 to 1981, said that during his term he was "severely provoked by international crises." "I became thoroughly familiar with the principles of a just war, and it is clear that a substantially unilateral attack on Iraq does not meet these standards," he said in his article.

听力原文:W: I personally, um, do yoga when I'm really, really stressed. Sure, yoga helps me to just relax enough so that I can sleep properly during the night and that…then I get out of that cycle of not sleeping, and you know, not eating properly. That seems to help a little bit with me.
M: Well, not sleeping is the first thing that happens to me if I'm under stress. And it's only quite recently that I've realized that the best thing to do is not try to sleep. Urn, what I tend to do now is I get up and get a cup of tea, camomile tea rather than tea with caffeine or tannin in it. And I put on a video of something that's fairly lightweight and I will sit… But it's the same with all stress, really, you have to, as you say, accept that you are stressed and try and breathe deeply and be sensible. There's no point in worrying because it's not going to change anything and you have to try and think that way. It's easy to say that, it's easy to give advice, it's more difficult to actually do it. But I think I'm getting better at it.
W: One of the things that when you are stressful is you start breathing very shallow. You're not taking oxygen down into your body, panicking, you tighten up and you're taking little shallow breaths.
M: Heavy breathing… and deeper breaths. I think that's my sort of solution to my stress.
