[音频]Mrs. John B. Dodd of Washington first proposed the idea of a "father's day" in 1909. Mrs. Dodd wanted (1)to honor her father, William Smart, who remained single after his wife died. But it wasn't until 1966 that President Lyndon Johnson declared the third Sunday of June Father's Day.
