听力原文: You are listening to the ABC news. [33] Two foreigners are among four people to have been killed in an explosion in the Egyptian capital Cairo. At least 14 others were wounded, six of them seriously. Police say one of the foreigners killed was a French national. Reports suggest other French citizens and German tourists are among the injured. The blast tore through an area popular with holiday-makers the Khan-el-Khali market, in the east of the city. [34] Witnesses have been quoted as saying a bomb exploded after being thrown from a motorcycle. Some international news agencies say security forces discovered another unexploded device nearby. It was not clear who was behind the apparent attack or if tourists had been deliberately targeted. Islamic militants have previously attacked foreign visitors to the country.
There was another bomb in Russian. Russian news agencies say at least 94 people have been killed in an explosion at a crowded social center in the city of Perm, 1,400km east of Moscow. [35] At least 139 people were wounded. Over 200 people were in the building when the explosion took place. Russian agencies report that the explosion was caused by a fireworks accident and not by an act of terrorism. Officials said most victims had died from smoke inhalation. The Russian government has set up a special commission to deal with the incident. Regional officials said that fireworks used at the party were too big for closed premises and were intended for outdoor use.
